Edgewater Dance
Company
The focus of the Edgewater Dance Company is to provide community
education about dance and outreach. The EDC practices
weekly on Friday evenings and performs regularly throughout the
year at elementary schools, fundraisers, and other community events;
the Edgewater Dance Company also participates in one to two scheduled competitions
and at Gilford Old Home Day each year.
Auditions for the Edgewater Dance Company are held in October, and all interested
dancers must audition each year. Company members must be at least
11 years old, be in Level VI (or higher) classes, take a minimum of three dance technique
courses per week (one of which must be ballet), and maintain good attendance
in all dance classes.
In previous years, Edgewater Dance Company performances have been awarded silver
and gold medals at competitions, as well as special recognition for creative
choreography and enthusiasm. Additionally, all the time that is dedicated to EDC classes and choreography
is donated by instructors, Cathy Defregger, Claire Brisden Jordan, Rebecca Gregoire, and Trista Patten.
